Overview
A man accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time nearly an hour. Finding himself will be the first of a series of disasters of unforeseeable consequences.
A low-budget Spanish time travel mystery.
If you have seen various time travel movies, be it a comedy like Back to the Future, an action movie like Looper, a sci-fi like Primer, or a love story like About Time, you’ll know that the fun or interesting bits come from paradoxes created by multiple timelines or realities.
Timecrimes (Los Cronocrimenes) plays with this quite well, and that makes it an interesting watch. The main brain tickler here being: what is cause and what is effect?
The acting is pretty good in that the characters are believable. But the main character appears to make some very illogical choices as the story progresses trying to avoid the effects he thinks he is causing. Or is he?
I would say the movie is an ok distraction if you enjoy time travel concepts. But then again, if you do, you will not find anything conceptually new in this movie… And if you don’t care for time travel movies, I doubt this movie would change your mind…
