Trailer

Pierce Brosnan plays ‘The Watchmaker’, a ruthless killer who is out to take out Mila Jovovich’ Security Director as she may foil a terrorist attack being plotted…

The movie is basically one big chase between the two. But the way they go about everything they each do makes so little sense for supposed experts in their fields that it undermines the whole movie… They seem each to choose the hardest and least logical route to do anything and everything.

It starts with the way the expert assassin goes about trying to kill the security director in the first instance, which is so overly complicated, high risk to the assassin, and explicitly looking for collateral damage that there is no way any sensible assassin would choose to do it that way. From there on the ‘But Why?’s just keep coming.

There are also a few subplots that really don’t go anywhere – the opening scenes of the movie show the origins of what will lead to the whole chase but really never gets any depth in the plot – it remains merely a simplistic ‘excuse’ for the action scenes. Or how The Watchmaker got involved in the first place is not very clear.  Or a hint of a romantic relationship evolving disappears as quickly as it starts.

So just stop thinking and you sort of might get some enjoyment from watching this shallow action movie. It is not boring; it’s just not any good…
